Dr.-Ing Anton Köllner

Curriculum Vitae

Anton Köllner is a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer in the SVFS group at the Institute of Mechanics. In his research, Anton Köllner investigates structural stability phenomena, the interaction of structural instability and material damage as well as novel material concepts. He is the course leader of the module Mechanics of Fibre Composite Materials and lecturer in the modules Slender and Flexible Structures Lab and 3D printing in Mechanics.

From 09/2019 to 08/2021, Anton Köllner was as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellow at Imperial College London at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering working on the EU H2020 project “DamBuckler”. In the project, he developed a theoretical formalism for exploring the interaction of structural instability and material damage resulting in efficient modelling approaches of deformation processes of damaged lightweight construction.

Anton Köllner received his doctoral degree (Dr.-Ing./PhD, grade: summa cum laude/with distinction) in 2017. His doctoral work was awarded with the Dr.-Klaus-Körper Prize of GAMM (International Association of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics) in 2018. He holds a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEng(Hons), First Class Honours) from The University of Auckland (2012) and a Bachelor degree from Chemnitz University of Technology (2010).
