Quality and Usability

Robert P. Spang

Biography

Robert P. Spang (né Greinacher) studied Computer Science (B.Sc.) at the Technische Universität Berlin and worked as a Full Stack Web Developer for several years. He wrote his bachelor's thesis at the chair for Machine Learning and Intelligent Data Analysis as well as the chair of Cognitive Psychology and Cognitive Ergonomics. Subject of the work was an automated assistance system for training data generation. Subsequently, he moved to Scotland in order to study Psychological Science (M.Sc.) with a focus on neuroscience at the University of Glasgow where he graduated in 2018. Subject of his master's thesis was an investigation of the validity of sham-blinding in transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS). Later that year, he joined the Quality and Usability Lab to work on software applications to assist and support people with cognitive impairments like dementia or aphasia. His further research interests cover topics ranging from user experience, cognitive psychology and machine learning to bio-feedback based behavioural predictions.
