CALL FOR APPLICATION: One Health Operationalisation course (including field work activities) in Kumasi, Ghana / 12th – 26th of August 2023

Are you a highly motivated student interested in gaining international experience in One Health?

About One Health Operationalisation
This course will introduce participants to the One Health concept as an approach being used to address the existential threat of global pandemics to the health and welfare of people. The course covers trans- and inter-disciplinary fields of both the main drivers of pandemics and the key pillars of resilient health systems in the WHO framework. Participation in a short online course will be a prerequisite for the travel to Ghana.

Funding
The German-West-African Centre for Global Health and Pandemic Prevention (G-WAC) is issuing full travel grants for students studying in Germany interested in participating in this course.

Who can apply?

  • Be a Master,  PhD or medical  student at one of the  partner University
  • Be Fluent in English
  • Ready to travel to Ghana and fully participate

How to Apply
Send a one-page CV and a one-page motivation statement stating why you want to participate to GWAC(at)ukbonn.de.
Work experience after 1st degree or vocational training is an added advantage. The stay will include a short attachment in one of the G-WAC research groups, to
choose a research group visit: www.g-wac.org.

In your application indicate:

  • in which research group you want to be attached in.
  • if you are currently receiving any kind of scholarship.

Optional self-pay cultural activities will be organized for those interested.
