Wissenschaftlicher Werdegang

Dr. Axel Westerwick came to the TU Berlin as Instructor and Coordinator Research and Teaching of Media- and Communication Science/Web Science.

Over the last 15 years, he taught and conducted research in the areas “media effects”, “communication technology”, and “organizational communication” at The Ohio State University. Before his tenure at the university, he was Manager of Learning & Development at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and led their eLearning program.

Dr. Westerwick coordinated international research grant projects at the RWTH Aachen and AMD. They focused on human-machine interface design and eLearning in business and educational settings.

Dr. Westerwick has published in prestigious outlets such as the Journal of Computer-Mediated-Communication and Communication Monographs. His research areas are communication science and human-computer interaction from both perspectives social science and engineering. His most recent book was published in 2020.
