The Center for Metropolitan Studies resumed its Public Lecture Series on 5 December 2023 with Prof. Dr. Gregg Mitman (Madison, Wisconsin and LMU Munich) and an extremely interesting presentation on the topic “Ebola in a Stew of Fear: From Urban Wet Markets to the Guinean Forests of West Africa”.
Gregg Mitman is the Vilas Research and William Coleman Professor of History, Medical History, and Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He is an award-winning author, filmmaker, and teacher, whose interests span the history of science, medicine, and the environment in the United States and the world.

The CMS Public Lecture Series continues on 12 December at 6pm with Dr. Tanja Straka and the topic "Night Time in Berlin and Melbourne: Human-Biodiversity Interactions and Practical Implications".
All lectures are open to the public and followed by an informal conversation over drinks.
