Information Systems Engineering
Dr.-Ing. Frank Pallas
Frank Pallas ist Senior Researcher (tenured) am Fachgebiet ISE. Er hat Informatik an der TU Berlin studiert und hier auch promoviert (s.c.l.). Vor seinem Wechsel an das Fachgebiet war er für 6 Jahre als Senior Researcher am Zentrum für Angewandte Rechtswissenschaft des KIT sowie am Forschungszentrum Informatik (FZI). Zwischenzeitlich war er zudem Vertretungsprofessor für das Fachgebiet „Informatik und Gesellschaft“ der TU Berlin.
In Forschung und Lehre befasst er sich mit interdisziplinären Fragen moderner Informationssysteme und -technologien und integriert hierbei technische, rechtliche und ökonomische Perspektiven. Insbesondere gilt dies für die Forschungsschwerpunkte des Privacy Engineerings, der Informationssicherheit und der regulierenden Kraft konkreter Technologiegestaltung. Darüberhinaus war und ist er im Rahmen nationaler und internationaler Projekte regelmäßig im Bereich der gestaltungsorientierten ELSA- (ethical, legal and societal aspects) Forschung aktiv. Er ist Reviewer für eine Vielzahl von Konferenzen und Journals sowie für nationale und internationale Förderorganisationen.
