International Conference on Unmanned Aerial Systems (ICUAS 2023)

On the 2023 ICUAS in Warsaw, Poland, our PhD Student Mats Martens presented the latest version of a cooperative feature-based #SLAM algorithm, which enables multiple drones to navigate in the monoculture forests around Berlin even with poor GNSS reception. Here, the information about the estimated tree positions will be bundled into a map in a decentralized manner. This might enable missions to track missing persons or forest fire under the tree canopy. More work to come!
