Workgroup for Economic and Infrastructure Policy (WIP)

Teaching areas at the Workgroup for Economic and Infrastructure Policy

Teaching at the department is divided into five teaching areas, each of which has a different teaching and research focus. Each teaching area presents itself on its own page and introduces the courses offered and shows opportunities for final theses.

The five teaching areas

Teaching area Nuclear Power (AT-OM)

The teaching area AT-OM deals with the political economy of nuclear power from a disciplinary, interdisciplinary and also transdisciplinary perspective. The entire production life cycle is considered (front end, nuclear power plants, back end).

Teaching area Institutional Economics and Infrastructure Systems (IÖ-IS)

The research area Institutional Economics and Infrastructure Systems (IÖ-IS) is concerned with the application-oriented analysis of economic policy issues related to infrastructure systems. One focus is the transformation of the energy and transport sectors against the background of the goal of climate neutrality.

Teaching area Microenergy Systems (ME-SY)

The teaching area Microenergy Systems (ME-SY) deals with various topics around SDG 7 ("Sustainable energy for all"). The focus is often on countries of the global south and topics around bottom-up electrification and microgrids.

Teaching area Resources Sustainability Environment and Circularity (RS-EC)

The Resources Sustainability Environment and Circularity (RS-EC) teaching area enables students to deepen their studies in the field of energy and resource economics with a focus on sustainability and circular economy. The aim of our teaching program is to provide students with the basic economic theories as well as practical applications.
