Dr. Thorsten Philipp

 

 

 

Dr. Thorsten Philipp studied art history, Romance languages, and political science at the universities of Munich, Vienna, Brescia, and Aix-en-Provence. In 2009, he received his PhD from the Geschwister-Scholl-Institute for Political Science at the University of Munich. After research activities at the Bundeswehr University in Munich and at Newmaninstitutet Uppsala, he worked as a policy advisor, focusing on environment and development in Brussels. Subsequently, he worked as a program manager and lecturer at Zeppelin University Friedrichshafen.

Since 2018, Thorsten Philipp has been working in the President's Office of the TU Berlin. As an Advisor for Transdisciplinary Teaching, he is in charge of promoting cross-disciplinary and cross-institutional education projects at the intersection of university, economy, culture, politics and civil society. At the same time, Thorsten is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Language and Communication at TU Berlin and a lecturer at  Leuphana University Lüneburg, Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg, Bundeswehr University Munich and Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University. His research focuses sustainability theories, political communication, and pop music.
