Dates and modalities for exams

At Berlin's universities, the measures apply on the basis of the "SARS-CoV-2-Basisschutzmaßnahmenverordnung" from 29. March 2022.

Accordingly, exams on location can take place in the winter semester of 2022/2023 (see here).
This means that all written examinations will be carried out and also that the scheduled oral exams (dates see below) take place.

IMPORTANT: The general regulation permitting failed exams to not count as attempts no longer applies in winter semester 2022/2023!

In case that in-person exams are prohibited, the exams are going to be rescheduled. There will be NO online-exams.
If the exams have to be rescheduled due to further Corona measures, all properly registered students will be informed immediately via e-mail.

Any possible changes of exam modalities will be announced here on time.

From January 01, 2023 on:

The registration for the oral exam happens in the MTS system.

The exam dates given here are subject to change and will be updated on an ongoing basis.

§63, Absatz 4

The registration period for an exam usually commences two weeks after the start of the lecture period and ends

• for written exams, at the latest one week before the specified exam date or on the date specified by the examiner and
• for portfolio examinations, at the latest one day before the first component included in the evaluation, usually after the first six weeks of the lecture period or on the date specified by the examiner and
• for all other exams, on the date specified by the examiner.

The registration period is announced at the start of courses in

the relevant module.

Oral examinations take place

in principle in:

• EIS II C
• EIS III A+B
• VT (Diploma)
• VT II (Master)

additionally as second repeat examination in:

• EIS II A+B
• VT I
• PC

Registration

Registration for the oral exams in VT II/ EIS IIA, EIS II C, EIS IIIA und Phys. Chemie, EIS II B / EIS III B is from now on ONLY POSSIBLE THROUGH THE MTS.

We will create the dates there semester by semester for you to register. Please pay attention to the mentioned deadlines.

Please provide us with the screenshot of your registration as a scan by the deadlines listed in the MTS via mail. The exact scheduling for the exam day will still be done by mail. 
If the demand is too high, there may be additional dates close to the original date.

• 22.08.2023  Submission of applications until 08.08.2023

Procedure

The oral process engineering examinations and examinations of elective subjects begin with a five-minute free presentation by the candidates. This is followed by questions about the lecture. Afterwards, the examiner will ask further questions.

In the following oral examinations, a five-minute lecture is not required:

• EIS II C
• EIS III A+B
• second repeat examination in VT I, PC and EIS II A+B

Registration

If possible, registration for the written examinations is done via the online registration system MOSES e.g. for

• VT I (EPT Bachelor)
• EIS II A, B (all Bachelor and Master)
• PC (all Bachelor)

If a MTS registration is not possible, the following must be done

• the registration form of the examination office must emailed to the secretary's office at least till the end of the registration period.
• the copy of the examination registration must be brought along on the day of the examination.

If no registration or the copy of the registration is available on the day of the examination, the examination cannot be taken.
