Welcome to Technische Universität Berlin
Dear Beginning Students,
Dear Newly Enrolled Students,
Welcome to Technische Universität Berlin! We are delighted that you have decided to study at our university.
For many of you this represents the start of an exciting new chapter in your life. Studying in a degree program, independently organizing your schedule, and getting to grips with the organizational structure of the University may be new to you and very different to what you know from school, your traineeship, or experience of work.
The COVID-19 pandemic and - due to an IT attack - limited availability of TU Berlin's IT services mean that you will be presented with an additional challenge during this new chapter in your life. I assure you that we – your instructors and Student Services – will be doing everything within our power to assist you. I urge you to contact our services at TU Berlin with any questions or doubts you may have. To make this easier for you, we have put together an overview of useful services on these pages. Please also make use of our orientation events. These are available as open events for all first-semester students as well for the individual degree programs. Once again, we would like to assure you that we are all doing everything we can to introduce you to our city, the TU campus, your fellow students and your teachers.
Technische Universität Berlin enjoys a rich tradition and an excellent international reputation and is committed to furthering science and technology for the benefit of our society. It is an outstanding educational establishment where you can develop your technical expertise and social competence, enabling you to actively shape your own future as well as that of our society. Seize the opportunity our university offers you as an open-minded student eager to acquire new knowledge.
We very much hope you will soon feel a part of TU Berlin. On behalf of the entire Executive Board, I would like to wish you every success for this new phase in your life and hope that the subject you have chosen to study inspires you to work hard to achieve your goals.
Professor Dr. Christian Thomsen
