New Student Day at TU Berlin

The main welcoming event for first-year students

New Student Day traditionally welcomes new students at the start of the winter semester. Normally, there is no central welcoming event in the summer semester. However, first-year students in the summer semester are recommended to attend the decentralized introductory events of the respective study programs. Furthermore, in addition to the study programs, other TU Berlin institutions offer introductory events, for example, the Orientation Days of the University Library from April 8 to 14, 2021.

Another hint for new students in the summer semester: the recordings of the previous New Student Day. These can be used to get important tips on starting your studies, to get to know contact points and to gain an insight into studying at TU Berlin. Due to the current situation, this event took place online. Academic Advising and other services at TU Berlin welcomed new students with an attractive and varied program and offer an overview of what studying at TU Berlin is like. New students also used a live chat on YouTube to ask Academic Advising both general and more detailed questions and to interact with each other.

The hybrid semester: campus life and commitment

What are the New Student Day, the subject-specific introductory events and the mentoring offers all about? How can first-year students get to know fellow students during the digital semester? In an „Info Talk“, TU Berlin students and the Academic Advising Service describe their experiences during the digital summer semester and give an insight into campus life at TU Berlin.

How to work together

If libraries and study rooms will not be open throughout all of the semester, how can students still work together on joint projects and discuss their homework? Meeting on campus or digitally: which is harder or easier? What does it depend on? In the „Info Talk“, the Academic Advising Service together with the research assistant Robert Spang will highlight important aspects and give advice on how to succeed in working in a team – whether digitally or quite generally.

TU Berlin Campus Tour

What might a day on the campus at TU Berlin look like? What are the important places and where does campus life take place? We want to give newly enrolled students an insight into their university during a digital semester. For now as a film and later on the campus itself.

New Student Day in Social Media

Face Filter on Instagram

How does a flying visit to the Audimax, the largest lecture hall at TU Berlin, and the Atrium, probably the most beautiful site on campus, feel? TU Berlin will be coming to you in your study space at home as Instagram filter: Under the keyword "TUgether At Home", four TU filters can be published in the story on Instagram.
