Degree programs with free admission (no NC)

Important information regarding enrollment for applicants not yet studying at TU Berlin

To enroll in a free admission bachelor's study program (no NC), please complete the following two steps:

  • First, you must register online during the registration period for enrollment in a free admission degree program (no NC):
    This Online-registration for enrollment in free admission degree programs (no NC) is completed through your TUB account (tuPORT) and is only possible during the registration period. Unfortunately, it is not possible to enroll in a free admission degree program (no NC) outside of or after the online registration period. You can find the exact dates of the registration period for enrollment in free admission degree programs (no NC) under Deadlines and Dates.
     
  • Second, after you register you will receive two automatic emails with the login information and a one-time password (please change immediately after logging in) for your TUB account (tuPORT). Please immediately set up your TUB account (tuPORT) so that you can successfully complete the enrollment process.

    Your TUB account (tuPORT) contains information about the following:

    Enrollment deadline

    You must upload the required documents and transfer the semester fee to TU Berlin's account by this deadline.
    Required documents
    Any required documents marked as "nicht erfüllt" in the "Enrollment and re-registration" app must be uploaded by the enrollment deadline. Please refer to the following web page in advance to learn which documents are required and how to upload them.
    Semester contribution fee
    In the app "Payment overview" you can see the semester fee amount and your personal reference for the bank transfer. TU Berlin must have received your payment by the enrollment deadline. IMPORTANT: Please note that bank transfers can take several business days. Be sure to transfer your payment in sufficient time.

If you already have an active TUB account (tuPORT), log in and select your requested degree program using the filter function. The required documents listed for the requested degree program must be uploaded in full by the enrollment deadline. Your TUB account (tuPORT) may also instruct you to fulfill additional requirements by the enrollment deadline.

IMPORTANT: If you are currently enrolled in another degree program at TU Berlin, communication will only take place via your TU email account and your existing TUB account (tuPORT).

The enrollment deadline is final. Enrollment requests uploaded after the enrollment deadline will not be accepted. Any payment received after the deadline will not be accepted. In this case, your enrollment will be denied due to failure to observe the deadline.

Important information for TU Berlin students enrolled in the current semester who want to change degree programs:

IMPORTANT: Under no circumstances should you request termination of enrollment from your current degree program. When you enroll in your new degree program, the Office of Student Affairs will automatically exmatriculate you from your previous degree program. You do not need to take further action.

You cannot request transfer to a restricted admission degree program (with NC) through online registration. In order to switch to a restricted admission degree program, you must submit an application during the application period (see Deadlines and Dates) and receive a letter of admission from TU Berlin. If you are enrolled at TU Berlin for the current semester and would like to transfer to a free admission degree program (no NC), complete the following steps:

  • Re-register for the coming semester. In the app "Payment overview" you will find the semester fee as well as your personal reference for the bank transfer (this changes each semester). The University must receive your payment to its account by the end of the re-registration period. Please note that you may also need to complete and upload documents required for re-registration by the deadline. You must re-register on time to transfer degree programs. Your re-registration takes place independent from your degree program.
  • You must register online during the registration period to transfer to a free admission degree program (no NC):
    This Online-registration for changing degree program for free admission programs (no NC) is completed through your TUB account (tuPORT) and is only possible during the registration period. Unfortunately, it is not possible to register for transfer to a free admission degree program (no NC) outside of or after the registration period.

  • Any required documents marked as "nicht erfüllt" in your TUB account (tuPORT) must be uploaded by the enrollment deadline. The enrollment deadline for uploading the required documents can also be found in your TUB account (tuPORT) by selecting your requested degree program using the filter function.

IMPORTANT: If you are currently enrolled in another degree program at TU Berlin, communication will only take place via your TU email account and your existing TUB account (tuPORT).

The enrollment deadline for changing your degree program is final. Transfer requests uploaded after the enrollment deadline will not be accepted. Any payment received after the deadline will not be accepted. In this case, your request to transfer degree programs will be denied due to failure to observe the deadline.

Should you have definitively failed an examination at any stage of your previous studies, the respective examination board must, as part of its examination of the Application for Recognition of Previously Obtained Credits (Part A), additionally state that the failed examination does not represent an obstacle to you being accepted to the degree program you wish to study.
 

How and where do I obtain a decision from the TU Berlin examination board?

You should submit the Application for Recognition of Previously Obtained Credits (Parts A and B) as well as proof of all study and examination credits you have thus far acquired (e.g. transcript of records) to the respective TU Berlin examination board. Request confirmation that your definitively failed examinations do not represent an obstacle to you being accepted to the TU Berlin degree program you wish to study.

IMPORTANT: It can take some time for the examination board to process your application. It is important that you contact the examination board in good time so that you have your degree semester placement before the enrollment deadline for free admission degree programs (no NC) and you can upload this document to your TUB account (tuPORT) as required.

Without this placement in a degree semester, you cannot enroll in the higher degree semester of a free admission degree program (no NC)

To enroll in the higher degree semester of a free admission degree program (no NC), please follow the steps below:

  • You must register online during the registration period to transfer to a free admission degree program (no NC):

How can I be assigned to a higher degree semester?

You should submit the Application for Recognition of Previously Obtained Credits (Parts A and B) as well as proof of all study and examination credits you have thus far acquired (e.g. transcript of records) to the respective TU Berlin examination board and request assignment to a degree semester.

IMPORTANT: It can take some time for the examination board to process your application. Information for re-registrants at TU Berlin

If you were previously enrolled in the same degree program with the same study and examination regulations at TU Berlin, you are a re-registrant. When re-registering, you can only apply for the semester you were placed in by the TU Berlin examination board. The semester must fall within the standard period of study for your degree program AND be offered the semester you are applying (i.e. winter or summer semester).

You must also submit a certificate of good academic standing from the Examination Office, confirming you still have the right to take examinations in the requested degree program.

Please note that it is not possible to be placed back in the first degree semester.
