If you were previously enrolled in the same degree program with the same study and examination regulations at TU Berlin, you are a re-registrant. When re-registering, you can only apply for the semester you were placed in by the TU Berlin examination board. The semester must fall within the standard period of study for your degree program AND be offered the semester you are applying (i.e. winter or summer semester). You must also submit a certificate of good academic standing (Unbedenklichkeitsbescheinigung) from the Examination Office, confirming you still have the right to take examinations in the requested degree program. Please note that it is not possible to be placed back in the first degree semester.
Refer to the application checklist for master’s studies to see which documents are required for your application. If you are applying for higher degree semester, you must have acquired the necessary credits from the previous semester and have received your placement in a higher degree semester from the relevant examination board.
You can apply for placement in a higher degree semester by the relevant examination board by submitting the Application for Recognition of Previously Obtained Credits - Parts A and B together with proof of all the study and examination credits you have thus far acquired.
Please submit the Application for Recognition of Previously Obtained Credits - Part A including the decision of the examination board and the certificate of good academic standing (Unbedenklichkeitsbescheinigung) from the Examination Office by 1 October (applications for winter semester) or 1 April (applications for summer semester) by email to Graduate Admissions (koordinierung.master(at)studsek.tu-berlin.de). See also points 7 and 8 of the checklist for applications to a higher degree semester. Without the placement from the examination board, including a signature, you will be unable to enroll should you be admitted.
Your Application for Recognition of Previously Obtained Credits - Part B and the proof of the credits you have acquired thus far are retained by the relevant TU Berlin examination board and then submitted to the Examination Office after you have enrolled. Please do not submit this to Graduate Admissions.
