At the Chair of Environmental Chemistry and Air Research, we address chemical reactions as well as transport and distribution processes of trace substances in the environment, especially in the atmosphere.

We carry out basic and applied environmental research in field experiments and laboratory tests, we develop environmental analytical methods and measurement techniques, and we teach bachelor and master students, especially in the program Environmental Science and Technology (Technischer Umweltschutz).

Currently, our research aims at quantifiying the exchange of trace compounds between the atmosphere and other environmental compartments, understanding secondary aerosol formation processes, and characterizing sources and transformation mechanisms of air pollutants.
