Library Accessibility

Central Library

  • The University Library is fully accessible.
  • The entrance is wheelchair accessible with automatic doors and is at ground level without any steps. The elevators and restrooms are also fully accessible.
  • Parking for users with disabilities is available behind the building.

Architecture and Art Studies Department Library

  • The Architecture and Art Studies Department Library is not fully accessible.
  • The main entrance of the Architecture Building (A-F) facing Ernst-Reuter-Platz has steep ramps that are not suitable for wheelchair users on their own. We recommend using the rear entrance of the Architecture Building.
  • The library is located on the first and second floors. You can reach the first floor using an elevator open to the public. The elevator for the second floor is located in an area of the library which is not open to the public. If possible, please contact us a few hours before you plan to visit so that we can provide access to the elevator.

Physics Department Library

  • The Physics Department Library is not fully accessible.
  • The main entrance of the Physic Building cannot be accessed by wheelchair as there are only steps and no ramp. Please use the rear entrance instance and follow these directions.
  • The rear entrance is wheelchair accessible and has automatic doors. To access the rear entrance, you must use the steep ramp to the right of the main entrance. The elevators are located directly behind the rear entrance. Please use caution as you enter the elevator, as the doors close very quickly.
