Final Theses (Bachelor’s, Master’s, Diplom, Magister Theses)

Searching for final theses written at TU Berlin

  • Bachelor’s and master’s theses (as well as Diplom and Magister theses and seminar papers) are not considered publications in the traditional sense but rather as examination documents. Unlike dissertations, final theses do not necessarily represent an independent contribution to research.
  • The TU Berlin study and examination regulations do not require students to submit their bachelor’s or master’s thesis to the University Library. For this reason, they are not generally listed in the Knowledge Portal Primo.
  • If you are interested in final theses written at a specific academic chair at TU Berlin, please contact the relevant institute or chair. Many institutes publish a list of works written by their students and researchers and may include a link to the full text.
  • Individual final theses are available in full text format in DepositOnce, TU Berlin’s repository for research data and publications by its members.

Inclusion of final theses in the library’s holdings

The University Library only adds final theses to its holdings in individual cases. Requirements for inclusion:

  • Express recommendation from the thesis supervisor
  • The thesis must have received special recognition or an award
  • If the thesis was written externally with the financial support of a company: written consent from the company

The request must be submitted by the author. Theses which are added to the library's holdings must contain a clear declaration of consent.
