Interlibrary Loan

Material not available in the TU or UdK library can be ordered via interlibrary loan by registered users.

Please check in advance if items are available in TU, UdK or other Berlin libraries:

Primo Knowledge Portal (TU Berlin)

Knowledge Portal of the Arts (UdK Berlin)

KOBV Portal (Kooperativer Bibliotheksverbund Berlin Brandenburg)

Obtaining items directly from a Berlin library will be quicker than ordering via interlibrary loan.

Notification and loan period

You will be notified when the library has received the items ordered by you. Copies of articles will be sent directly to your address.

The loan period is set by the lending library and is usually 4 weeks. It runs from the time the interlibrary loan item is made available (i.e. not from the time it is picked up). If the loan period is exceeded, you will be charged an overdue fee. An interlibrary loan item can also be provided for reading room use only (especially in the case of rare titles worthy of protection). In this case, it is not possible to borrow the item off site.

Materials that you have ordered via interlibrary loan cannot be renewed - a global renewal in your library account therefore will not include interlibrary loan materials.
