Scanning Request

Our Service

Members of TU Berlin may request scans of book chapters and journal articles which are otherwise only available in the library’s physical holdings. 

Scanning requests are possible for the following TU libraries:

Fees and Conditions

Fees:

  • TU staff and students: free of charge


Availability:

  • Processing takes 1-3 business days
  • The file is available on an FTP server for download for 14 days
  • Important: You will receive the download link by email. Via "My Account" you can check whether the email address in your library account is correct.

Instructions

... for Journal Articles

1. Log in to the Knowledge Portal Primo

TU staff: Number of your library account (number above the barcode on your employee ID) and password:

You assigned the password for your library account yourself. If you do not remember it, please proceed as follows:
Sign in link in the Knowledge Portal Primo.
→ Login for TU staff & all other users → Forgot your password or first login? → Follow instructions

TU students: Name and password of your TUB account

2. Search for the desired journal.
3. Click on "Scanauftrag für TU-Angehörige” under “Get It”.
4. Then click on “Request scan” in the right hand column titled “OPTIONS”.
5. The request form will then open.

... for Book Chapters

1. Log in to the Knowledge Portal Primo

2. Search for the desired book.
3. Click on "Request scan" under "Get It".
4. The request form will then open. Please complete and submit it.
Tip: Tables of contents are available for many titles.
5. According to copyright regulations, the volume of scans we are allowed to make for TU members may not exceed 15% of a book’s total volume. The successive ordering of individual parts of a complete work is also not permitted.
