Hygiene Concept for All TU Berlin University Library Locations

Entry to buildings

The maximum number of visitors permitted in our libraries has been adjusted to reflect current regulations and varies by location.

Libraries are only open to visitors who are borrowing or returning media or who would like to use a reserved study space. Security personnel will be conducting checks at the entrance.

Please note that to use a study space, you must fulfill one of the following conditions:

  • Proof of a negative test no more than 24 hours old. Currently only rapid tests and PCR tests are accepted and not self-tests.

  • Proof of complete vaccination with the final vaccination administered at least 14 days ago

  • Proof of recovery from the coronavirus: A positive PCR test result that is at least 28 days and no more than six months old

  • Proof of a positive PCR test older than six months as well as at least one vaccination from more than 14 days ago

Requirement to wear a mask

You are required to wear an FFP2 mask at all times when visiting the library, including when at your study space.

During your stay: markers and signs

Please follow the designated walkways in busy areas, such as the entrance and exit and areas where there is less space. You may use scanners as long as you observe minimum distance regulations.

Hygiene rules are posted throughout the building. Floor markers and barrier tape are also in place to help guide you. Disinfectant dispensers are provided.

Library staff will advise any visitors who do not observe minimum distancing.

Using work spaces

Members of TU Berlin and UdK may use the study spaces in the University Library with prior reservation. Surface disinfectant is provided for scanners.

Information desks

For the safety of our staff, all information desks are outfitted with plexiglas protective barriers. All staff assisting visitors elsewhere in the building wear mouth and nose protection.
Longer advising sessions and training offers are provided in virtual format.
