Summary
Dr. Timm Teubner is a professor of Trust in Digital Services in the Faculty of Economics and Management at TU Berlin. He is a member of the Institute of Technology and Management, the Einstein Center Digital Future, and a fellow of the Berlin Centre for Consumer Policies.
The main focus of his work is the analysis and the design of digital platform ecosystems. He approaches this subject from a socio-technical perspective on information systems. This includes the investigation of user behavior and psychology, technical, legal, as well as strategic aspects.
Professor Teubner’s research is primarily based on quantitative approaches, including laboratory and field experiments, structured surveys, network analysis, as well as analysis of secondary data using statistical and data mining methods.
In his teaching, Professor Teubner deals with the economics networks and platforms. In these areas he offers lectures, seminars, and the supervision of individual research projects and dissertations for Bachelor, Master, and PhD students.
Before his appointment at TU Berlin, Timm Teubner studied Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Karlsruhe (now Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, KIT). After completing his studies, he earned his doctoral degree at the Faculty of Economics with distinction on Social Preferences under Risk. At KIT, he did research and taught at the Institute of Information Systems and Marketing (IISM) and headed the Karlsruhe School of Services (KSOS). He received several awards for his achievements in teaching.
Professor Teubner is a regular member of the program committee of the most important German and international conferences in Information Systems. He regularly reviews articles for prestigious journals, including the Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS), Journal of Strategic Information Systems (JSIS), Information Systems Journal (ISJ), Business & Information Systems Engineering (BISE), and Group Decision and Negotiation (GDN). Professor Teubner is a member of professional associations and commissions, including of the Association of University Lecturers in Business Administration (VHB).
