The formal admission requirement for the consecutive master’s program in Urban Ecosystem Sciences is a first university degree in ecology, environmental planning, landscape planning, landscape architecture, environmental science, conservation, urban and regional planning, spatial planning, environmental technology, geoscience, geography, agricultural and forestry studies, natural science, or a closely related subject qualifying the applicant for professional work.
The Urban Ecosystem Sciences master's program is taught in German and English. If you are applying with a foreign school-leaving certificate, you must provide proof of German skills at a specific level. This is a prerequisite for admission. All applicants are required to submit proof of English skills at CEFR level B2.

The Urban Ecosystem Sciences program is divided into compulsory, compulsory elective, and elective components. The compulsory component encompasses a total of 54 credit points including the master's thesis. The compulsory elective component includes 54 credit points and is divided into advanced principles (18 credit points) and advanced urban ecosystem sciences (36 credit points). You must complete a total of 12 credit points (LP) in the elective component.
