Effective 1 January 2018, comprehensive amendments were made to the Act on Protection for Mothers at Work, in Training and in Studies (Maternity Protection Act - MuSchG). It replaced the previous Maternity Protection Act and aims to provide effective maternity protection where measures for protection against health risks conflict with the changed ideas and wishes of women to continue working during pregnancy, after giving birth and while breastfeeding.
You can receive initial advice about maternity protection while studying from the TU Berlin Academic Advising Service.
Please inform the Office of Student Affairs in the Campus Center of your pregnancy as soon as possible so that TU Berlin can ensure the protection of both your health and that of your child. Please bring your Mutterpass (maternity record booklet) as proof.
