If you have already obtained examination credits and would like to have these recognized to enable you to start studying in a higher degree semester, please submit the following documents before the deadline. You must submit the document to the email address provided on the application by the stated deadline.
How can I be assigned to a higher degree semester?
You should submit the Applications for Recognition of Previously Obtained Credits (Parts A and B) as well as proof of all study and examination credits you have thus far acquired to the respective examination board of TU Berlin and request assignment to a degree semester. It can take some time to process your application. We therefore recommend that you contact the examination board promptly in order to ensure that your placement in a degree semester is confirmed. This confirmation must be submitted before the application deadline expires.

You can find contact details for the TU Berlin examination board in the degree program profiles (click on the program you wish to study).
On the basis of your credits, you will be assigned to a particular degree semester for which you may then apply. The degree program semester must lie within the valid standard period of study for the respective degree program at TU Berlin.
Should you have definitively failed an examination at any stage of your previous studies, the respective examination board must, as part of its examination of the Application for Recognition of Previously Obtained Credits - Part A, additionally state that the failed examination does not represent an obstacle to you being accepted to the degree program you wish to study.
The Application for Recognition of Previously Obtained Credits (Part B) and proof of all the credits you have thus far acquired remain with the respective TU Berlin examination board.
Should study places be available, you will receive confirmation of admission and further details regarding enrollment from TU Berlin Undergraduate Admissions. You will receive this confirmation around mid-March for a summer semester start and mid-September for a winter semester start.
If you were previously enrolled in the same degree program with the same study and examination regulations at TU Berlin, you are a re-registrant.
As a re-registrant you can apply for the next or an even higher degree semester (only in the standard period of studies). You must have been placed in the respective semester by the examination board.
The regulations for the lottery system apply to applications for higher degree semesters in restricted admission bachelor’s programs. Study places for these degree programs which have not been allocated after completion of the admission procedure, will be allocated by means of a lottery system.
To participate in a possible lottery, you must send the completed application for participation in the lottery system directly to TU Berlin Undergraduate Admissions by 1 October to enroll for the winter semester and 1 April to enroll for the summer semester. Applications may only be submitted to the email address provided on the form. You do NOT need to include any further documents or proof.
Please note: You will receive a letter directly from TU Berlin only if you have been admitted. Your letter of acceptance will include the login to your TUB account (tuPORT) where you must then upload the documents required for enrollment.
