Service-centric Networking

ORAN (Open RAN Lab)

The Open RAN Lab is a freely accessible test environment and development platform for researching, testing and developing Open RAN-based networks. The goal of the Lab is to accelerate the development of new products, processes and services and to advance industrial research. The project consortium wants to support cooperative development with an open source strategy. For example, interdisciplinary collaboration is to be used to develop technical market solutions that are as uniform as possible. In the Open Lab, SMEs and startups are given direct access to current research, mentoring and a test environment by means of which they can develop and test concrete application scenarios. The activities in the Open RAN Lab will also aim to further develop open standards, for example by developing test procedures for data security, conducting security analyses, and testing software components and identifying security-critical interfaces.
