Working field:

  • Participation in a research project with focus on process automation in industry 4.0, where the existing technologies of the project partner are prepared and adapted for future applications. The work and research is based on a process management software that uses BPMN-based models to control and monitor tasks for devices and workers.
  • Analysis of existing procedures and protocols; development and evaluation of new concepts, data structures and vocabularies for seamless integration from product development to production.
  • Mentoring of student workers and student theses within the research project
  • Doctoral graduation option (desired)

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in computer science, industrial engineering or a related field
  • Good programming skills at least in the programming language JavaScript
  • Knowledge and experience with distributed systems, middleware technologies, communication protocols
  • Good skills in abstraction, modeling and creative solution finding
  • Desirable: experience with product planning, creation and production processes in industry
  • Desirable: knowledge of industry communication standards/protocols
  • Desirable: knowledge of Semantic Web and vocabularies
  • Optional: experience in process automation based on BPMN
  • Proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken
