Philip Toepffer






Scientific Career

Since September 2019, Philip Toepffer has been working in the Blockchain Group of Telekom Innovation Laboratories, where he leads research in token economics applied to next-generation blockchain infrastructures. Moreover, he is driving the research on the topic of molecular economy, a novel concept regarding future blockchain-empowered economics and the structure of our society.

Prior to this work, he graduated the trainee program for high potentials and talents in Deutsche Telekom AG, where he had the chance to closely get involved with eSIM projects in the automotive industry, M&A activities, and venture capital investments. Prior to this program, he started his career in investment banking and consulting. Philip Toepffer finished his master’s degree in Economics and Management at the University of Duisburg-Essen in 2017. His master thesis covered “Blockchain and its Economic Consequences”, a topic that has inspired him ever since.
