Laboratory equipment of the department

Various systems for electronic measurement of mechanical quantities such as strains, forces, pressures, displacements, accelerations, humidity, sound, temperatures. In our structural mechanics laboratory we can handle a wide range of different measurement tasks due to the existing infrastructure. We can not only rely on our experience in the construction of measuring instruments, but also on our own workshop, which enables us to manufacture on site.

Hydropulse system

Brief description

Our hydropulse system can be used to perform quasi-static and dynamic stress tests on components with dimensions of several meters. The core of the system is a displacement-controlled hydropulse cylinder with a maximum nominal load of 400 kN. The stroke of the cylinder is 250 mm, although larger displacements can be achieved by means of appropriate deflection devices. There are a total of 5 longitudinal cylinders and 2 rotary cylinders.

Shaker in different sizes

Brief description

The properties of many components and assemblies are strongly dependent on the ambient temperature. Our test setup combines the testing of components at a vibration excitation and at controlled ambient conditions, in many industries this test is mandatory.

Brief description

Tensile test is one of the most important tests to characterize the properties of a material. Our universal testing machine can also perform compression, bending, shear and folding tests with a test load of up to 400 kN.

Laser-Doppler-Scanning-Vibrometer (PSV-400)

Brief description

Laser Doppler scanning vibrometry can be used to experimentally investigate the dynamic behavior of structures. It is a fast, imaging method for the non-contact measurement of vibrations, for example in vehicle, aircraft and machine constructions, in microsystems and data technology. The measurement system is characterized above all by powerful measurement, analysis and presentation software. The presentation of the measurement results by animated videos facilitates the visualization of the vibration modes. The determination of operating vibration modes and eigenmodes can be carried out over a wide frequency range.
