The Berlin University Alliance has joined the Deutsches Klima-Konsortium (German Climate Consortium, DKK). The consortium represents the leading players in German climate and climate impact research. Under the motto “Research for society, the economy, and environment” the DKK brings together renowned research institutions, whose work contributes to recognizing climate changes and identifying courses of action for prevention and adaptation.
“Berlin University Alliance’s membership of the Deutsches Klima-Konsortium is an important step to increasing the visibility of the expertise in Berlin and expanding the existing network between the researchers of the Alliance partners and of the partners in the DKK. In addition, it is of great importance to present scientific findings outside of academia and discuss these openly with key players in politics and society,” says the current speaker of the Berlin University Alliance, Professor Dr. Günter M. Ziegler, president of Freie Universität Berlin.
