The Berlin universities are watching the reports of new record highs in the State of Berlin and the rapid spread of the omicron variant of the coronavirus with concern. Nevertheless, sufficient measures have been taken in teaching and research as well as the administration so that the universities are prepared for developments during the last weeks of winter semester 2021/22. At the recommendation of State Science Secretary Armaghan Naghipour, the universities and colleges in the Berlin State Conference of Rectors and Presidents (LKRP) spoke in favor of requiring FFP2 masks to be worn on all campuses to prevent the risk of infection. This was agreed by the Berlin Senate this past Tuesday.
At TU Berlin,tThe requirement to wear an FFP2 mask does also apply to examinations. TU Berlin will provide further information shortly.
