The social, economic and ecological framework conditions associated with the vision of global prosperity force us to rethink the traditional industrial society. Increasing the usable productivity of resources is necessary for reasons of policy and resource availability. The resource-sink economy must be transformed into a circular economy. This ecological goal is more easily achievable with technological development based on market dynamics, within a framework of legal incentives. In a circular economy, salvaging is the link between consecutive usage cycles for products, to recycle materials and separate toxins.
