Measurements on rail vehicles and tracks - theory and practice

In this course, students learn how to use measurement technology to perform measurements on rail vehicles and tracks (e.g., gauge information, wheel-rail profiles) under supervision. Measurement results are independently evaluated in small groups using rules and regulations and documented in writing.

Lecture and Exercise Content

  • Railway standards and regulations
  • Measurement technology and methods, both theoretical and practical
  • On-site measurements on both rolling stock and track.
