Strategic Controlling

Strategic Collaboration between Science and Art/Culture

TU Berlin engages in a number of activities combining science and art/culture. These activities require strategic organization and further development. We are responsible for establishing, expanding, and coordinating collaboration between science and art/culture across TU Berlin as well as with other universities. Our aim is to identify future fields and formats of interdisciplinary collaboration and knowledge transfer and leverage new potential in the Excellence Strategy.

Developing Campus Charlottenburg as a place for scientific-artistic collaboration and innovation is of central interest. To this end, Strategic Collaboration Between Science and Art/Culture coordinates central projects such as the Hybrid Plattform (together with UdK Berlin) and the Science Gallery Berlin (part of an international network). Its work also includes the development of artist-in-residence programs for various research institutions at TU Berlin and participative exhibition formats for the exhibition pavilion planned for Campus Charlottenburg.

Hybrid Plattform

The Hybrid Plattfrom is a joint project of Technische Universität Berlin and Berlin University of the Arts for cross-disciplinary cooperative projects across Campus Charlottenburg. Cross-disciplinary and institutional exchange are at the core of the project: The platform promotes knowledge transfer between art, science, and technology. It also initiates and supports artistic-scientific projects in research and teaching, opens doors and serves as an intermediary between the two institutions, and creates relationships with other partners. Its services form the framework for cooperation and joint funding applications. Various communication formats such as the long-standing Hybrid Talks increase visibility of inter and transdisciplinary exchange and Campus Charlottenburg.

Science Gallery Berlin

Science Gallery Berlin is a new platform at TU Berlin, the newest university member of the acclaimed Science Gallery International Network. Science Gallery Berlin will deliver compelling new experiences which blend art, science and technology in a way that is connective, participative and surprising. The first iteration of Science Gallery Berlin will be housed at the new Wissenschaftspavillon. While creating the programing for their first season, COHESION, Science Gallery Berlin at TU is working on two distinct Residency Programs, one that completes the EARTH WATER SKY residency program between Science Gallery and funder Fondation Didier et Martine Primat, and another new program ART OF ENTANGLEMENT in partnership with BIFOLD.
