BUA-Module

What are BUA Modules?

BUA Modules

BUA Modules are modules selected from the range of modules offered by the alliance partners, which students of the Berlin University Alliance can take as part of an extended secondary auditorium. BUA modules bring students from different departments and institutions together in one interdisciplinary learning environment. Students can take modules from five different intellectually stimulating subject areas:

  • Gender & Diversity
  • Society & Philosophy
  • Digitalization
  • Environment and climate protection
  • Global Health

There are also BUA Modules which are offered in a thematically open area.

In order to participate in a BUA Module at TU Berlin, students of Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin or Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin must register as BUA students at the BUA office.

For TU Berlin students, registration for BUA modules offered at TU Berlin does not go through the BUA office. As a TU student, you can find out how to register for the respective BUA module either via the Registration Information item in the module description in MTS or via the contact person for the module, whose contact information can usually also be found in the module description in MTS. You can access the module description of a BUA module by clicking on the respective module titles of the BUA modules, which you will find within the subject areas.

Further BUA Course Format in summer semester 2023: Student Research Opportunities Programx

Once again the berlin university alliance will be offering the formats X-Student Research Groups and the X-Tutorials under the  Student Research Opportunities Programx (StuROPx).

  • The X-Student Research Groups are research teams consisting of junior researchers, e.g. PhD students or PostDocs, and students. The goal is to enable students to participate in current research during their studies and thus strengthen the transfer of (innovative) research into teaching.
  • The X-Tutorials are research tutorials initiated and organized by students. Two tutors work as a team with other students on a topic of their interest. The goal is to give students the freedom to work independently on their own research question at an early stage.

All X-Student Research Groups  and X-Tutorials, offered at TU Berlin in summer semester 2023 you can find in the course catalog.
