Degree Program Representatives and Committees

The Education Committee is an advisory committee of the Faculty Board. Students comprise half of the members and hold half of the votes. The Education Committee is responsible for issuing opinions and drafting recommendations regarding teaching and studies in the faculty. In Faculty VI, the Education Committee forms subject committees which are dedicated to the specific issues of the individual degree programs.

BAföG representatives are responsible for notarizing your certificates of performance which are required for your BAföG application. They can inform you which documents are needed and/or you are missing and which academic performance you still need to complete.

The internship coordinators are responsible for recognizing professional experience in accordance to the relevant study and examination regulations.

The examination boards are responsible for organizing all examinations. They are also responsible for recognizing previous periods of study, examinations, and credits; providing a list of examiners; and taking decisions regarding suitable examination conditions for students with long-term or permanent physical disabilities. In particular, the examination board ensures that the provisions of the General Study and Examination Regulations of TU Berlin (AllgStuPO) and the provisions of the Study and Examination Regulations for the respective degree program are observed.

The university professors have the majority of votes in the examination boards; the chairperson is elected from among them.

Degree program coordinators are representatives of the vice dean of academics and teaching and work on their behalf. Working together with the institutes, the degree program coordinators are responsible for ensuring the study and examination regulations are implemented and all necessary courses are offered, if necessary in agreement with the course timetable coordinators, arranging teaching assignments, updating documents for degree programs, as well as organizing and conducting regular teaching conferences. They also assist students with questions about organizing their studies and academic reform.

Course timetable coordinators ensure that all courses are offered by the responsible academic chairs and instructors and that compulsory and compulsory elective courses do not overlap during the semester.

Liaison lecturers advise students with disabilities and chronic illnesses on questions related to studying.

The representatives for international students advise international students who are regularly enrolled in a degree program on questions related to studying.

Students who are studying at the TU Berlin as part of an exchange program should contact the professors responsible for the respective cooperation.

Refugees who are entitled to study in their home country but do not meet all admission requirements yet can register as guest students at TU Berlin as part of the In(2)TU Berlin program. The program enables refugees to take up or resume their studies and offers insights into studying at TU Berlin, providing a chance to attend classes and in some cases even take exams.
