E. h.) by Technische Universität Berlin in recognition of his outstanding achievements in the further development of civil engineering and his services to a common understanding between architects and engineers.

Peter D. Eisenman

On 15 October 1999, Stefan Polónyi was awarded the academic title honorary doctor of engineering (Doktor-Ingenieur Ehren halber - Dr.-Ing. E. h.) by Technische Universität Berlin in recognition of his outstanding achievements in the field of three-dimensional load-bearing structures in steel, composite steel and pre-stressed concrete construction and in linking the scientific knowledge gained from this with teaching in the architecture and structural engineering degree programs.
