Power Electronics

Research

For our research we have well-equipped electro-technical laboratories and modern simulation tools at our disposal. In current projects we investigate the application, design and control of various converter circuits in electrical networks using methods such as real-time simulation and scaled test setups. In another topic, we are researching inverters with modern, fast-switching power semiconductors. We have direct contact with component technology through our cooperation partner, the Ferdinand Braun Institute, Leibniz Institute for High Frequency Technology in the Forschungsverbund Berlin e.V. (FBH). Together, we work in a Joint Lab Power Electronics to new power semiconductors and converters based on gallium nitride (GaN).
