Landscape Construction

Profile

At the Chair of Landscape Construction, we are particularly concerned with construction and material-related design in landscape architecture - i.e. with building construction, design from the urban scale to the structural detail. This involves the appropriate, material- and energy-saving use of resources (sufficiency), efficiency and coherence, i.e. future-oriented, sustainable design, planning and construction.

Climate justice and biodiversity, the careful use of resources and the existing in the sense of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle are important aspects of this.

It is about teaching and researching the cultural history of building in the landscape, with the aim of developing environmentally and socially compatible, high-quality and innovative open spaces, based on the history of garden art, garden monument preservation and vernacular heritage.
