The Alliance of Excellence of Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin is establishing a cooperation platform in the form of a public corporation (Körperschaft des öffentlichen Rechts). This administrative unit will enable the Berlin University Alliance to provide an efficient, stable and legally compliant framework for its joint projects. The Berlin House of Representatives passed a law to introduce this measure by majority on 1 October 2020.
Professor Dr. Angela Ittel, vice president for strategic development, junior scholars and teacher education at TU Berlin and member of the Executive Board of the Berlin University Alliance, welcomes this development: “By establishing this public corporation, we have created a legal framework to facilitate the introduction of individual measures within the Berlin University Alliance. This strengthens the common vision of the alliance partners by promoting cooperation and facilitating future projects,” she says.
Find out more about the cooperation platform in a joint press release from 1 October 2020 issued by Freie Universität Berlin, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin as well as the Senate Chancellery for Science and Research (only in German).
