Methods for Product Development and Mechatronics

ELONSO

Project description

The ELONSO project is dedicated to the progressive establishment of eHighway technology as an electrification solution for heavy-duty traffic on highways / trunk roads, thereby continuing the technology development and testing of earlier funded projects in accordance with the respective subsystem technology maturity levels. By doing so this project aims to prepare and open up the market for the new eHighway technology.

In cooperation of the chairs Smart Mobility Systems (SMS) and Methods of Product Development and Mechatronics (MPM), the specific system properties of the pantograph developed for heavy-duty vehicles are to be defined at the TU Berlin, a test environment is to be developed and implemented, and associated test scenarios are to be defined and published. Furthermore, a pantograph provided by Siemens Mobility is to be tested using this newly developed test environment. Subsequent work packages deal with the simulation of carbon dioxide emissions at vehicle level and the operational safety of the eHighway system.
