Are you on the Severin campus and need an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) now?
An AED is hanging in the entrance area of building SG-12.
The building entrance is located on the south side of the building facing the Salzufer River.
Please have a look at the website of the Medical Service (Betriebsärztlicher Dienst – BÄD)!
There you will find out that the emergency number within the TU Berlin is 3333 – from your cell phone dial 030 314-3333. You will be connected to the Berliner Feuerwehr (Berlin Fire Department), but at the same time someone from the gatekeeper's lodge can become active to unlock gates, for example.
You will also learn about the other locations of defibrillators (AEDs) and much more.
By the way - you are also insured on the direct way to and from the university.
If you have any questions, please contact our representative for occupational safety.
From DGUV Information 204-010, November 2014 edition, under 2.4:
‘Just like resuscitation, the use of the AED always takes place within the framework of the “justifiable state of emergency” in accordance with Section 34 of the German Criminal Code (StGB) and the presumed consent of the person concerned. Accordingly, it can be assumed that the user of an AED cannot be criminally prosecuted unless he or she violates the required duty of care. Information on this can be found in the brochure “Rechtsfragen bei Erste-Hilfe-Leistungen durch Ersthelfer” published by the Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung (DGUV – German Social Accident Insurance).’
