Mailservice for math.tu-berlin.de

Anti-Spam- and Anti-Virus-Support

The TU Berlin uses a spam defense tool at its central Exchange server for the addresses <firstname>.<lastname>@tu-berlin.de. Each of the addresses managed by this central server receives a digest of quarantined spam twice a day. Please refer to the ZECM web pages for current service details.

The mail server mail.math.tu-berlin.de does not participate in this central service. For anti-spam support, mails for mail.math.tu-berlin.de are examined with a reject support, which does not deliver mails with an exceedingly high spam level.

The server also operates a virus filter. Infected or suspicious mails are quarantined and the recipient is notified. If the affected mail is still to be delivered, you can contact the central system support (staff).

As a user of a mail client such as Thunderbird, AppleMail or others, you can also teach the software tool and thus improve spam detection. Simply mark unwanted mails as advertising! This can usually be selected in the context menu of a mail (right mouse button).
