The Maths Library is open again on Saturdays!

From Saturday, 29 April, we will be open from 10 - 18.

For almost a year, the Mathematics Library was unable to be open on Saturdays due to staff shortages, energy-saving measures and, not least, technical investigations.

With the start of the summer semester and the lecture period the Mathematics Library extends its opening hours again. The following opening hours apply from 03 April:

Invitation to the semester kick-off event of the Institute of Mathematics

The semester kick-off event will take place at our library on Tuesday, 25 April 2023, at 6 pm.

On Tuesday, 25 April, 2023 at 6 pm the traditionally semester kick-off event of the Institute of Mathematics takes place in our premises. Please be aware, that the regular opening hours of the library will end on this occasion at 5:00 pm.

International Day of Mathematics on 14 March

To celebrate this occasion the Mathematics Library is displaying literature on the mathematical constant π (pi) and related topics from its collections.

On 14 March Mathematics is celebrated all over the world. Initially, the day became known as Pi Day based on the fact that the spelling of the date (3/14) in some countries corresponds to the first three digits of the mathematical constant Pi (3,14...).

Free menstrual hygiene products at TU Berlin

From now on, free menstrual hygiene products for women are available on the restrooms next to the Mathematics Library.

Thanks to an initiative of the Women's Department of the AStA and the student initiative EB 104, free menstrual products are now available in some toilets on campus. Among others, the toilets in the mathematics building MA 004a and MA 005a on the ground floor, as well as the barrier-free toilet MA 161 directly in front of the mathematics library…

Annual Mathematics Book Sale

From January 9 through February 28, 2023, discarded math books can be purchased at the library at a great price.

The annual book sale of discarded and duplicate mathematics books starts on January, 9th 2023. In the foyer of the Mathematics Library textbooks and monographs can be purchased at very reasonable prices (starting at 0,50 € per book). There is something from all areas of mathematics. Only cash payment at the service counter is possible. Have fun…

Our new website is now online

As of now, you can find the Maths Library website at www.tu.berlin/en/math/bibliothek.

As we approach the end of 2022, the Mathematics Library website is changing. With immediate effect, our newly designed pages can be found under the URL https://www.tu.berlin/en/math/bibliothek. In the process of the general web relaunch of the TU Berlin, the content will be fundamentally updated. Not all information is available at the beginning.

Extended Opening Hours

From Monday, the 5th of December, our opening hours will be Mondays to Fridays from 9 am to 9 pm.

With three new service assistants starting on the Mathematics Library team in December, our hours of operation can be extended again.

Mondays - Fridays: 09:00 - 21:00
Saturdays - Sundays: closed

Please note that due to energy saving measures, the Math Building will not be accessible on weekends until further notice.…
