The German government's climate protection targets call for a significant reduction in emissions in the transport sector by 2030. The decarbonisation and sustainable design of transport logistics is therefore a central challenge currently facing logistics research and practice. A special focus is on urban logistics. Cities are focal points for economic activities and centres for cultural and social developments. Urban logistics operates in the field of tension between global challenges, changes in society as a whole and increasing customer demands as well as technological and operational trends. By investigating sustainable drive technologies, transport modes and the development of adapted logistics concepts, we contribute to achieving these goals within the framework of this research field.
