Thomas Zernechel trained as a technical draughtsman at Volkswagen AG and graduated in mechanical engineering from Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences.
In the course of his career, he was responsible for material flow planning, plant technology and process organisation as well as work organisation and holistic logistics optimisation, among other things. Through Volkswagen AG, he was deployed not only in Wolfsburg but also in Spain, Slovakia and Brazil.
His successes lie in the further development of Group logistics by creating significant synergies by merging processes across plant, brand and Group functions. He focuses on new technologies, digitalisation and sustainability in logistics to make it fit for the future.
Today, he is an external lecturer for the course "Production Logistics in interconnected Value Systems".
