Continuum Mechanics and ConstitutiveTheory

Continuum Mechanics and ConstitutiveTheory, Prof. Dr. rer. nat. W. H. Müller

Our research concerns continuum theories. In general, a distinction is made between balances for physical quantities, such as mass, momentum or energy, which are laws of nature and valid in general, and constitutive equations that hold only for special materials. Special attention is currently given to higher continuum theories, such as micropolar and gradient media and their applications to blood flows, current collectors and electromagnetism.
