This project involves departments of the FU, HU, Charité and TU Berlin. The aim is to develop mitigation and adaptation measures against the effects of climate change on the water balance in the Berlin-Brandenburg region in cooperation with social and natural scientists and experts from practice and administration. One of the tasks of the department is the analysis of existing plans with regard to corresponding goals and proposed measures.

Effects of digitalisation on society and the protection of biological diversity

Duration: 8/2020 - 7/2023

On the basis of three case studies, the interdisciplinary team investigates connections between digitalization, societal changes and nature conservation. From this, recommendations for action for nature conservation policy to strengthen biodiversity concerns in politics and the public will be derived. The case studies cover the topics of "Perception Patterns and Understanding of Nature," "Digitization in Participation Processes," and "Digital Mobilization for Nature Conservation Commitment.
