Aero Engines

Steady and Unsteady Flows in Compressors and Turbines

The area of steady and unsteady flows in compressors and turbines covers all the department's research activities in the field of:

  • Active and passive flow control
  • Detailed investigation of loss reduction
  • Analysis of flow instabilities
  • Innovative cooling concepts in turbines
  • Evaluation of multi-row blade concepts to increase the working range

The experimental investigations are carried out at low speed and high speed test facilities.
