Central Library

The new joint library building of the University of the Arts and the Technical University is one of the most modern facilities in Germany. The tradition of the library of the University of the Arts dates back to the founding of the Academy of Arts in 1696, and the library of the Technical University was established together with the Technical University in 1884.

The Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin is an important contact point for students looking for interdisciplinary and subject-specific literature. Its constantly expanding holdings include photographs, manuscripts, and newspapers, among others, and consist of approximately 32 million items.

Furthermore, Berlin offers about 80 public libraries. When searching for literature via the KOBV, the availability of literature in the entire Berlin stock can be found.

The holdings of the special art history library cover the fields of art history and art history; architecture, book art, graphic art, handicrafts, painting, poster art, sculpture
and has a stock of 404,050 volumes. These include electronic publications, auction catalogs, microforms, periodicals, and a comprehensive historical book collection of approximately 24,000 volumes.
