Regional Climatology

The Chair of Climatology works with methods of regional climate research, mainly in areas of the earth where a low availability of data makes the direct observation of climate phenomena difficult. For this reason, numerical modeling of the atmosphere and remote sensing methods (IT services) play an important role in addition to measured data. We address questions on the improvement of data quality (e.g. HAR) on the influences on the regional water balance (e.g. QTiP) or on the interaction of land cover and atmosphere (e.g. Morocco, Central Europe, South America).
